New Magasin Vert in Quimper: Eureden strengthens its local presence and prepares for the future

Published on 23 June 2026

The Eureden cooperative group continues to develop its distribution network and takes a new strategic step in Quimper with the takeover of the independent garden center Les Jardins de Kervilier.

This operation marks the beginning of an ambitious project that will eventually see the transfer of the business and teams from the current Magasin Vert store in Quimper to this new location. More than just a simple relocation, this acquisition is part of a long-term vision aimed at sustainably strengthening Magasin Vert’s presence in the region and making this store one of the network’s flagship locations.

A project serving customers and the local area

True to the values of its cooperative model, Eureden continues its development strategy by combining economic performance, territorial proximity and human commitment.

This project addresses several major challenges.

A reinvented customer experience

The future store will benefit from a strategic location, in the immediate vicinity of Decathlon, within a dynamic retail area focused on outdoor leisure activities. This location will allow for a smoother, more modern, and more attractive customer journey, in line with consumer expectations.

Strengthening regional leadership

By integrating a long-established and respected player in the Quimper gardening sector, Eureden consolidates its position as the leading garden and pet store retailer in Brittany. This transaction also contributes to local economic growth by ensuring the continuity of a business deeply rooted in the region.

A transmission based on shared values

The takeover of Jardins de Kervilier is the result of a handover conducted in a spirit of trust and mutual respect with the previous owner. Guided by a shared culture of entrepreneurship and close customer relationships, this transition ensures continuity for both the teams and the customers.

People and expertise at the heart of the project

The success of this operation rests above all on the complementarity of the women and men who bring the two brands to life.

The project involves retaining all employees of Jardins de Kervilier and integrating the teams from the current Magasin Vert in Quimper. Nearly forty employees will thus join a single team, bringing together complementary skills and expertise to better serve customers.

This union of expertise will further strengthen the quality of support and advice offered to enthusiasts of gardening, plants, pets and outdoor leisure.

A modernized site for better reception and better working

To support this new momentum, a major modernization program will be deployed on the site.

These investments pursue a dual objective: to improve the customer experience while optimizing the working conditions of the teams.

Improvements dedicated to ergonomics, safety and work tools will be implemented to provide a more comfortable and efficient environment for employees.

For customers, the future store will offer an expanded range of products across nearly 6,000 m². It will bring together all the expertise of the two brands: plants, vegetable gardening, motorized gardening equipment, pet supplies, outdoor products, decoration and seasonal products.

The store will thus capitalize on the historical expertise of each site. The recognized expertise of Jardins de Kervilier in the worlds of outdoor living, decoration and seasonal events will complement the strengths of the current Magasin Vert in the areas of plants, vegetable gardening, motorized gardening equipment and pet supplies.

A gradual rollout starting in the second half of 2026

The various administrative and legal steps are currently being finalized.

Eureden will officially take possession of the Jardins de Kervilier site on July 1, 2026. This step will pave the way for a gradual integration of the teams and the transfer of activities from the second half of 2026.

Throughout this transition period, both stores will remain open to ensure continuity of service and to calmly support customers.

A new step for the Magasin Vert network

With this project, Eureden confirms its ambition to develop an ever more efficient, attractive and locally rooted distribution network.

By combining the strengths of Jardins de Kervilier and Magasin Vert de Quimper in a modernized site, the Group is preparing the future of the garden center and pet shop while preserving the jobs, skills and proximity that make up the strength of its cooperative model.

Dominique Blanchard

director of Eureden's distribution branch

"This takeover, carried out smoothly with the seller, goes far beyond a simple acquisition. By combining the expertise of our historic Magasin Vert store with that of this new site, we are creating a unique, complementary offering. We are investing to modernize the facilities for the public and the working conditions for our employees. And with Decathlon as our parking lot neighbor, the area will become a must-visit destination for nature and outdoor enthusiasts in Quimper!"
