On September 10 and 11, Saint-Malo vibrated to the rhythm of the Breton Economic Forum (FEB). This major event, which brings together hundreds of public and private stakeholders each year, is a unique space for reflection on the economic future of Brittany. A long-standing partner of the Forum, Eureden actively participated in the discussions, true to its mission: to support agricultural and agri-food transitions while supporting the competitiveness and vitality of its territory.
On Wednesday, September 10, our president, Dany Rochefort, spoke at the plenary session: “Agri-Agro: How to reconcile transitions and economic performance in an uncertain context?” Alongside Claudine Hurman, Director of the Banque de France in Brittany, and Laurence Fortin L’Hour, Vice-President of the Brittany Region, he brought the voice of agricultural cooperation to bear on key issues: supporting environmental and societal transitions, preserving the competitiveness of our production, and meeting consumer expectations.
In an unstable global context, this exchange highlighted the importance of combining responsibility, innovation, and cooperation to build a sustainable agricultural and agrifood model.
A plenary session on the theme ” 100 years later, what if mutualism was the answer to the future challenges of the regions? ” brought together the leaders of Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, Groupama and Eureden, all three from the Central Office founded in 1911 at the tip of Brittany. Alongside Julien Carmona, President of Crédit Mutuel Arkéa and Delphine Letendart, Director of Groupama Loire Bretagne, Alain Perrin, Managing Director of Eureden, spoke of the modernity of values and the cooperative spirit.
The second day of the FEB was an opportunity for Eureden to highlight a crucial theme: the renewal of agricultural generations.
Led by Damien Craheix, head of transformation and innovation in animal production, the Eureden Lab, entitled ” Setting up in agriculture in 2026 “, brought together speakers who came to share their experience and vision, including Michel Bloc’h, Eureden administrator and president of the installation committee, Christophe Le Bret, operations manager of the La Touche Group in Ploërmel, Marie-Isabelle Le Bars, head of the Installation and Transmission mission at the Brittany Regional Chamber of Agriculture, as well as Jean-Rémi Bertheleu, from Crédit Agricole des Côtes d’Armor. Together, they discussed the profiles and expectations of future farmers, as well as the support levers necessary to ensure the success of their installation in a context marked by strong generational renewal.
The day continued with two round tables on the key topics of adaptation to climate change and water management.
During the plenary session ” Making the right decisions in a changing world “ , Armelle Guizot, Director of Brands, CSR and Innovation for the Long Life branch at Eureden, spoke alongside Sylvain Waserman, Chairman and CEO of ADEME, and Marianne Guyader, CEO of Groix & Nature. She highlighted the commitment of Eureden’s vegetable sector to the Adapt’Agro project , led by ADEME, which aims to support farms in the face of the effects of climate change.
During the major panel discussion ” The Water Emergency , ” Alain Perrin, CEO of Eureden, spoke alongside specialists in sustainable finance, resource management, and the agri-food industry. He emphasized how water is a vital issue for the vegetable sector in Brittany, both in the fields and in factories. Beyond a simple technical issue, water appears to be a real challenge for the sector and the region, at the crossroads of issues of food sovereignty, sobriety, and the equitable sharing of uses.
Through these interventions, Eureden reaffirmed its role as a committed cooperative, serving its 16,000 farmers and 8,000 employees. The debates at the Breton Economic Forum illustrated the extent to which agricultural, economic, and climate transitions require a collective approach, where cooperation and dialogue are essential keys.
By speaking out on such structuring subjects, Eureden confirms its ambition: to combine performance, sustainability and attractiveness, in the service of farmers and the entire Breton territory.
