Eureden, a multi-specialist agricultural cooperative and TSE, a benchmark for agrivoltaics in France, signed a partnership on September 16, 2025 to develop agrivoltaic projects in cattle breeding in Brittany and Loire-Atlantique.
Eureden and TSE have decided to pool their expertise to carry out coherent agrivoltaic projects with livestock farms, mainly dairy and beef cattle, in the four Breton departments and Loire-Atlantique.
A partnership to support farmers
Faced with current challenges (renewal of generations of farmers, climate change, animal welfare, etc.), the Eureden Board of Directors has chosen to promote the installation of livestock shade structures among the cooperative’s members.
TSE has identified different areas within the cooperative’s territory where it is possible to inject electricity into the network via source stations.
Eureden and TSE will work together in a complementary manner throughout all stages of each project, from initial assessment to commissioning, and will manage all aspects of the development phase. This partnership is based on a rigorous approach to project quality and long-term value sharing with farms.
Agrivoltaics, a winning synergy
Agrivoltaics allows solar energy to be produced on agricultural plots without compromising their nutritional vocation. It is a solution to help farmers cope with climatic hazards, in particular by preserving animal welfare and fodder production through shade, while consolidating their income. Agrivoltaics complements other renewable energy solutions, such as rooftop solar, wood, or methanization. Finally, it contributes to maintaining livestock production in the region and the sustainability of the family farming model.
The common ambition of this project is to develop 30 to 50 agrivoltaic projects by 2030 in Brittany and Loire-Atlantique.
Mickaël Mairand
director of the TSE Le Mans agency
"We are truly delighted with this partnership. TSE is a decentralized company that works closely with the main players in the agricultural world. Eureden, like TSE, are committed players. We will combine our skills and expertise to enable both the production of French, local, inexpensive, and carbon-free electricity and agroclimatic and economic support for farmers."
Dany Rochefort
President of Eureden
“In a context of agricultural, environmental, and societal transitions, this partnership is important for the region and for the cooperative. It offers an additional solution for diversifying into green energy for livestock farms. It will allow cooperative members to combine solar energy production and agricultural production in a secure and controlled environment.”
On the occasion of SPACE 2025, Eureden and TSE, formalize their partnership to develop agrivoltaic projects in cattle breeding in Brittany and Loire-Atlantique.
